If you arrive at the international airport it is really easy to go to Botafogo, Flamengo, Copacabana or Barra. This is the bus you should take:
line 2018 – International Airport – Alvorada (Barra). It passes by the city centre, Zona Sul (South Zone) and the last stop is Barra. It costs R$9,00, not that cheap, but definitely cheaper than a cab.
You can also take the following one if you are going to the City Centre or maybe wanna take another bus:
line 2145 – Santos Dumont Airport – International Airport
If you get in the city by bus, there’s this:
